“You’ve always had the power, my dear, you just had to learn it for yourself”.
~Glinda the Good Witch
I was working with a client the other day and when we hung up, I gathered my notes, recorded them in our shared google doc and then sat and thought about them for a bit.
The truth is, that we all have some sort of special gift – a hidden talent, that most of the time, we are not even aware of. A gold mine, just waiting to explode and share with the world. What gets in the way of the volcanic eruption (and the joy, passion and fun that goes along with it) is in the thinking that what we are currently doing is the only way. That what we want is not possible and it is there that we get stuck, complacent and stay narrow. Status Quo becomes our normal and anything beyond that is simply a wishful fantasy, similar to that picture of the remote island in Fiji that is glued to the top right corner of your “vision board”.
When Dorothy finally “hears” those magical words from Glinda the Good Witch, she was ready to hear them and it was in that moment that she knew everything was possible all along.
The key word here is “ready”.
Most of us are never ready until we are truly ready. Whether it’s a food addict ready to give up sugar or the girl sitting behind her desk wishing, dreaming and praying for another life – what we all want is right in front of us and what it comes down to is belief.
The question is, “how do you get from where you are today, to where you want to be tomorrow”.
I have figured out a few things along the way and with both successful and failed business’, and I am sharing my blueprint in a weekly Think Tank call via Zoom. I share a little tidbit, give some good tips, but mostly help you start to figure it out. And in the process, what I am finding is there are both learning and teaching moments in all of it.
With the world balancing on it’s head right now, we all need to pivot, think outside of the box and scale our current work situation, business or brand. What I am seeing is that you can’t do it alone and these weekly chats are helping all of us see what is possible. Including me!
